Green Curriculum

The curriculum at Hill's Nursery has evolved over the years through our constant observations and study of the kids entrusted to us . The school curriculum is designed to interlock various aspects as a whole , instead of separate compartments. Hence , our focus is to ensure that children perceive and learn about the beautiful world around them as the most precious gift , that is meant to be loved , cherished and most  importantly cared for. We have undertaken the following activities in the recent past as a step in this direction :

Green Friends - Green Curriculum

Green Friends

In an effort to instill a love for trees, Hill’s Nursery celebrated friendship in an extremely unique way. The toddlers were taken to Veer Narmad University, with beautifully designed friendship bands. They were then asked to tie a band to their dearest "green friends” and to protect, preserve and take care of them for life.

This activity was followed up, with a pledge to plant a tree. The promise was taken up very seriously as all stakeholders of the school stepped forward , we had teachers & students planting saplings at school, while parents did their part at home as well to make Surat , truly Green.  Through, social media, a unique “Tirangaa Challenge” was given to the parents and society at large to plant a tree in their vicinity in the month of August.

Environmental Awareness Sensitization Drawing Day.

An exciting colouring extravaganza was held for students and parents. The children were only supposed to colour. Whereas the parents were supposed to draw, colour and write slogans on various themes like –Toddlers– “Save Earth”, Nursery– “Save Water”, Junior K.G.– “Go Green, Grow Green” and Senior K.G.– “Swatchh Bharat—Wet &’ Dry Waste”. This activity created a lot of awareness amongst the students,
parents and society at large.

The school curriculum is structured in a manner to allow students to develop a love for their environment and also to understand their responsibility towards various surroundings. The activities of Clay modeling , story telling, best from waste, waste segregation, are focused on reinforcing on a day to day basis the importance to care and nurture our environment.

Hill’s Nursery has now adopted a paper free , administrative system , with the introduction of the school app, there is a movement towards digital messaging & communication. Hence ensuring a safer environment.
